Kids Helping Kids

You can put Love In A Big World into action by helping kids just like you around the world.  Choose a service learning project that you can do as a family, a class or an entire school.

Children’s Hospital, Nashville, TN

Every day in Nashville there are children in the hospital at Vanderbilt. You can be part of helping their time in the hospital be happier.  With your parent or teacher, visit Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital to see the Wish List.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Look under the item on the left called: Toy and Supplies Donations.
  2. Decide which items you want to gather. Determine length of collection time, either one week or one month.
  3. Email our School Coordinator, Sarah and let her know about your project.
  4. Collect items.  Invite friends and family to participate.  Tell them date that items are due.
  5. Email Sarah when you have all of your items together.  She will pick them up at your school and deliver them to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

Flood Survivors in Gulf Coast & Midwest U.S.

The floods in the Gulf Coast and the Midwest U.S. have destroyed homes, schools and businesses.  Kids lost their clothes, their toys, their food and their school supplies.  They need: story books, toy cars, dolls, socks, peanut butter, pouches of tuna.

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Decide which items you want to gather. Determine length of collection time, either one week or one month.
  2. Email our School Coordinator, Sarah and let her know about your project.
  3. Collect items.  Invite friends and family to participate.  Tell them date that items are due.
  4. Pack items in shoe boxes or backpack.  Label as boy or girl and size, if necessary.
  5. Email Sarah when you have all of your items together.  She will pick them up at our school and make delivery arrangements.

Invisible Children, Uganda, Africa

Orphan children in Uganda, Africa live in a country torn-apart by war.  Kids don’t have clothes, toys, food, or school supplies.  They need: flip-flops, pencils, paper, back packs, story books, small toys, socks, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Here’s how you can help:
